Mirczak Jacek (b. 1968)

Visual arts artist. His artistic practice includes painting as well as photography, printmaking and performance. He studied at the Faculty of Fine Arts of Mikołaj Kopernik University in Toruń. There, he became involved with the 'TeArt' happening art group founded by Kazimierz Rochecki. His works have been presented at many solo and group exhibitions around the world, including Malaysia, Algeria, the USA and Australia. In addition to visual arts, he also works in poetry and prose. He is the originator of the '3x1 Project' art meetings. Balancing between geometric abstraction and gestural painting, he creates paintings with a strong inner energy. References to minimal-art or abstract expressionism can be found in his art.
(...) "Mirczak's painting is non-representational and has no narrative, with emotion at its core. The artist admits that this is the most important issue for him. This emotion accompanies him when he creates and should also be present in the reception of the works, although the message sent and received does not necessarily have to be identical."
